  1. Calculating density with coin thickness is nearly impossible, because the thickness of every coin varies from the rim to the relief.

It’s far better to verify density by measuring specific gravity instead. The water fully envelopes the coin, so you get a much more accurate reading.

You can do a specific gravity test at home, using a cheap jewellers scale, a glass of water, and a length of thread or dental floss.

  2. I don’t see it as a cheap coin, its very nice; inexpensive…. better word. (just having fun BYB) I need to check out the forum. Thanks and have a great week.

  3. Interesting ramble.
I’ve gone off gold, and now concentrating on silver items at prices I would otherwise spend on fractional gold.

  4. Can you advise where is best in the uk to buy gold and silver? Also are coins or bars better?

  5. Very nice. Now all you need is the older version that is denominated with 2000 shillings.

  6. Had difficulties with admin and passwords on TSF. Good if you have the time. Looks like a good community. A few questions to join which is always good. Havent logged since I lost the password though. Not worth the hassle. If you are looking to sell, good to go paid for a while and build a rep… But likely wont get that much 🙁 Talking to ppl on ebay, it’s super hit or super miss territory. TSF, at least you get a fair price. Nothing stella like ebay, but ppl are juped there to get those super hits.

  7. How is spot price a bargain? Metals are stll hyper inflated. In two years it might be worth buying. Maybe.

    1. Why in two years? What do you anticipate happening in two years and why? I’m very new to this community, so still trying to learn how it all works.

  8. When it comes to purchases like this, why would someone sell it for spot? That’s what you might get from a coin shop. But if you sell to another collector, you’d think you could at least sell just a bit below the current premium…
